Ring Size Guide

U.S. ring sizes follow a scale of numbers (and half numbers), typically from ring size 3 to 13.5 for adults. Women’s rings are commonly between sizes 3 and 9, while men’s rings are usually sized between 8 and 14. Those units match your finger’s width in millimeters: A ring size 3 fits a ring finger (or any finger) that is 14 millimeters across, and the sizes climb from there.

The average ring size for women is between 5 and 7, but it’s always best to get an exact ring measurement before spending a lot of money.

There are a few different ways to measure a ring size:

  1. Use a ring sizer tool: These can be purchased online or at a jewelry store, and are used to determine the size of a finger by sliding the tool onto the finger and reading the size on the tool.
  2. Measure a ring that already fits: Place the ring on a ruler, and measure the diameter of the inside of the ring in millimeters. This measurement can be used to find the corresponding ring size using a ring size chart.
  3. Measure the circumference of the finger: Using a strip of paper or a string, wrap it around the finger at the base and mark the point where the two ends meet. Measure the length of the strip or string in millimeters, and use a ring size chart to find the corresponding ring size.
  4. Visit a jeweler: They can help you measure your ring size.

It is always recommended to measure your ring size at the end of the day when your fingers are at their largest, as ring size can fluctuate throughout the day due to changes in temperature or water retention.
